Katja Oblak (1975, Ljubljana) graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Art and design in Ljubljana under professor Matjaž Počivavšek and assistant professor Jiři Kočica. Her research in the field of sculpture focuses mainly on the body and the perception of the body in (contemporary) space, and in part also on the field of performance (movement, Butoh dance). She is involved in the organization of artistic events within the groups KUD Sestava, Ljubljana, and KUD TAAK, Vipava. She teaches sculpture (since 2009) in LICE school in organization of The Miklova Gallery in Ribnica and also organise specific sculpture workshops with Julijan Borštnik. She lives and works in Ljubljana. www.katjaoblak.si
