Vstaja lezbosov: HOMO-RISK
Vstaja lezbosov (or The Insurrection of Lesbos’) is asking questions about meanings of public space; asking where do lesbians find their place. By using video and elements of theatre performance – and your help – they will be discovering an ironic narrowness of heteronormativity and go over the boundaries of the visible and audible. We recommend the use of anti-virus protection clothing; the lezbos virus is raging again!

Martina Ipša (Slovenia): Martina’s Monologues
Stand up and spit it out! Martina’s stand up comedy is not the mere cracking of unrelated jokes, but rather the expression of her opinion on various current and intimate issues. Her stage tools are words, her body, and ingenuity and - of course - audience reaction, which may well take any performance in a completely new direction.

The discussion will focus on examples of Balkan fairy tales written at the end of the 19th century; fairytales with atypical plots about heroines who go into the world, overcome numerous obstacles dressed into a man, and finally earn a princess. How can we understand fairy tales and their gender roles differently today? Can a socially determined fairy tale heroine be saved from a heteronormative patriarchal order? Choreography: Alchemic Sisters
Costume design: Martina Štirn
Musical director: George Cremaschi
Musicians: Liz Allbee (trumpet, electronics), George Cremaschi (contrabass, electronics)

Despite fifty years of modern feminism, the image of the rough, tough, ‘hard’ man is as strong as ever. In observing popular culture, it is often difficult to tell the difference between 1968 and 2008 - indeed, if anything, the current vision of manliness is bigger and stronger than ever. Men who don't aspire to classic models of virility are called geeks, wussies, nerds, pussies and fags. The message being if you're not tough, you're not a ‘real’ man. No wonder men are insecure and anxious. In this performance, Ryuzo Fukuhara, Martina Štirn and Maja Pučl propose that men can give up chasing an illusion, in order to find a more balanced and relaxed perspective.
